I think in the off-season we should have a rule for every owner with two options (may select one):
1) Release any one player regardless of the years on there contract 2) Can remove 3 contract years from their overall team at no additional cost

Not bad suggestions at all, but I'd suggest a little different tweak that we have in TBL and TBL3 and I really think is much more reasonable considering we only get a 100 blb allotment each year.
How about reducing the foxtrot buying out contracts to 5 blb per contract year?

I like that idea as well. I just hate seeing scrubs taking up space on my roster to be completely honest. Especially if I am not going to use them ever.

I like reducing buyout to 5 blbs, but no freebies for bad GM decisions. Take your medicine like men!
